Ode to the Causal Fan

In the era where the comic books compete with the traditional novel and non-fiction prose, the graphic novel is giving its mainstream cousins a run for its money. Gone are the days where the word "comics" inspired only images of Superman, the Fantastic Four, or The Peanuts. Now the word can bring to mind such titles as Rex Mundi, The Victorian, Cancer Vixen, and Soon I Will I Will Be Invincible.

What inspires me about comics these days is its diversity. I have had off and on relationship with comics and graphic novels, but I am fan none the less. There’s so much to learn and read in the comic book world. Fortunately, I have some friends who have been long time comic collectors, and the privilege of working for Pantheon Books. So I am going to share my experiences and my reads. Feel free to ask questions and welcome to my world.
